Meta WAR Focus Group Test: $5K Prizes, Exclusive NFTs, and a First Look at the Metaverse

The much-anticipated Meta WAR Focus Group Test (FGT) officially came to a close on September 5, marking an important milestone for Planalab’s blockchain-powered metaverse project. The limited-time test not only distributed $5,000 in prizes and exclusive NFTs but also provided valuable insights into how the upcoming game may function once it fully launches later this year.

Running from August 27 to September 5, the event served as both a community showcase and a large-scale stress test, offering participants a first real look at how meme-inspired rivalries can translate into factional battles inside a blockchain gaming environment.

A First Look at Meme-Based Warfare

Meta WAR draws inspiration from internet culture, particularly the playful rivalries between meme coins like PEPE and DOGE. This theme was brought to life in the centerpiece of the FGT—the “Red Light, Green Light” mode. Much like the popular scenes from Squid Game, this mode required precise timing and movement, creating intense elimination battles between the two factions.

To join, participants must hold at least 3,500 MWAR tokens. These can be bought directly or converted from partner tokens such as PESW. However, staked or previously airdropped tokens are not counted, ensuring that only committed players enter the test. Registration stays open until the event closes on September 5, and players’ progress is tracked through live leaderboards that measure kills, playtime, and even in-game chat activity.

The reward system has been designed to encourage both casual and competitive play. Every qualified participant automatically receives a Green Tracksuit NFT along with 1,250 MWAR tokens, which are worth around $50 at current market rates. The overall champion of the test will walk away with $2,000 in cash and a rare Pinkman Suit NFT, while other categories award $1,000 for the most games played and special NFTs for achievements like longest session or top ten most active in chat. There is also a $1,000 lucky draw, but only for players who created and verified a character.

The format proved successful in generating excitement. Thousands of players engaged in fast-paced matches that tested both reflexes and strategy. By design, the mode highlighted the potential of faction-based combat, while also giving developers crucial data about server performance under heavy demand.

The Bigger Vision Behind Meta WAR

Meta WAR is developed by Planalab, a studio that combines blockchain specialists with traditional game designers. Their vision is to create a play-to-own experience where meme-inspired factions fight for control, and every action can tie into an evolving digital economy. Items such as suits, weapons, and land parcels are represented as NFTs, ensuring real scarcity and ownership. This testing phase comes at a time when blockchain games are shifting away from repetitive earning models and toward deeper, story-driven gameplay. Titles like Star Atlas have already generated tens of millions in NFT sales this year, showing there is strong demand for games that blend entertainment with economic participation.

Several important features have been highlighted during the Focus Group Test. One of the most notable is spectator mode, which allows people who do not own tokens to watch live matches through streams on platforms such as X. This has helped the game gain wider attention as dramatic match highlights circulate online. The technology powering Meta WAR is also worth noting. The game uses a zk-rollup backend to ensure fast, low-cost transactions, which is especially important in high-stakes matches where a single move can mean the difference between victory and losing valuable NFTs. An anti-cheat system, built with Chainlink oracles, ensures that scores remain tamper-proof.

Meta WAR is also preparing for larger integrations, including partnerships with decentralized exchanges focused on meme tokens. This opens the door to cross-chain battles and collaborations in the months ahead.

Roadmap Toward Full Launch

The path to full release has been clearly mapped out. A presale in July 2025 raised $1.2 million, helping to fund development. After the current Focus Group Test, rewards will be distributed and NFTs minted directly on the BNB Chain. The complete metaverse is scheduled for launch in the final quarter of 2025, with plans for faction expansions and land auctions that will allow players to own pieces of the virtual world.

The Meta WAR Focus Group Test highlights how blockchain gaming is experimenting with new models of ownership, rewards, and community engagement. With $5,000 in prizes, NFTs that provide lasting value, and an early opportunity to shape the future of the metaverse, this test goes beyond a simple beta. It is a demonstration of how gaming and digital economies can merge, creating spaces where play, competition, and financial opportunity come together.

As the project moves toward its full launch later this year, the momentum from the FGT suggests that Meta WAR has the potential to stand out as one of the more ambitious metaverse projects on the horizon. Whether it can maintain long-term appeal will depend on how successfully it balances entertainment with economic sustainability, but for now, the project has established a strong foundation and captured the attention of both gamers and crypto enthusiasts alike.
